Puppy Training

SixteenPaws asked:
Elliot is a very fast learner. Sometime I’ll get a decent shot of her “dance” trick.. it is very cute. She started doing it all on her own too, she likes to show it off at Petsmart. If anyone is curious about how to teach your dog a certain trick, leave a comment and I can make a video of the training.

Sometimes I didnt even use treats. Get a special or different dog food and use that as “treat” The dog won’t know any better, it tastes different and they will think it is a treat!

Yes the best thing to do is to stop giving her attention the SECOND you feel teeth on your hand. Then after a few minutes of ignoring her try again. Consistency is the key. She will get it.

Sorry but that is not true about that they will not forget it. They will forget any tricks that are not utilized or practiced for a long period of time. So make sure you keep up the training.

easy…..the moment she start bite to hard you stop INMEDIATLY with giving attention and turn your back to here, do that 10 times and a garante she wil get the point.
The WORST punishing for a pup is NOT getting ANNY attention(1min is allready enough for a pup)you increase the minutes with every year of the dog. It’s the easyest way to tell (and understand for your pup) ‘that’s not good’.

No…., acctually dogs should not leave the nest before 8weeks but even then the owner should atleast start with getting the puppy to learn where to *** and where not, everything you learn before the age of 6 months wil NEVER be forgetten by the dog and wil be hard to teach different.
But before you start anny trainning the dog has to trust and love you, this you get by playing alot.Weimaraners are easy to learn but before you start trainning it’s a must that they lose some energy in a game.

i have a sheltie puppy and she learned speak, down, sit, shake, roll over, and crawl by the time she was 12 weeks. If you ever get another dog that is the way to go. but they shed like crazy. And your dog is so cut how old was she in this video

well I’m just getting this from the dog whisperer but give it a try:
You must try and drain her energy, walk her everyday for at least 20 minutes. when you play with her and she starts to bark, open you hand up and put it in about half a metre in front of her face and make a sharp noise like ‘sh’ very quickly. If that doesn’t work, open your hand up (palm facing down) and put it against her neck, not too high. Whatever yo do don’t call her name when you try to stop her from escalating.
